Barbershop Chorus Trivia- Choruses were not part of the orginal Society makeup in 1939. Although informal chorus singing started almost immediately it wasn't until 1948 that the society began producing development materials to chapters specifically for choruses. The first International Chorus Contest was held in 1954 in Washington DC.
