Support us
Portland Metro Chapter is a nonprofit organization but it does have expenses; i.e., director compensation, rehearsal hall rental, sheet music, insurance, risers and a trailer to transport them, website maintenance, and so on. Some of the expenses are met by membership dues, net proceeds from shows and performances, and by special revenue events like the Singing Valentines program. But these sources rarely meet all of our needs and certainly do not allow us to adequately fund plans for promotion of the chorus, hiring qualified coaches, or for other forms of activity to promote growth or improvement.
Interested parties can help in a number of ways:
Direct tax-deductible donations. Because we are a 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Charitable Corporation, donations are tax deductible. We can supply a receipt for tax purposes.
Bequests and legacies. The Portland Metro Chapter can be named as a recipient of bequests from estates, as provided for in a will. Executors should be advised to make such funds payable to the chapter through the treasurer.
Corporate Matching. Some corporations have a provision to match the charitable work of their employees with a dollar match of its worth usually expressed in the value of time invested. For example, Hewlett-Packard (HP) is a regular sponsor using this method.
Sponsorship. Corporations and Individuals who elect to support the arts will sometimes do it with an annual sponsorship on behalf of a favorite art form and its provider. Portland Metro would be grateful for such support in the form of a grant.
Oregon Cultural Trust. The State of Oregon has established a Trust Fund to which donors can make an unspecified contribution, or they can specify one or more recipients. Portland Metro is seeking membership in the Oregon Cultural Trust.
A donation of time. We often seek volunteers to help us in our shows, cabarets, banquets and conventions. If you would be willing to help as an usher, ticket person, server, or in any role, please let us know. See Contact Us.
